About Us

Chatswood Sewing Centre was established in 1975 & is now privately owned by Shane & Aurora Davison since February 1999.

We are dedicated to providing the best service & products to you. This dedication has gained us an excellent reputation with both customers & sewing machine companies over the years. It has also won us several professional awards which recognizes us as one of Australia’s top dealers.

In our continued efforts to provide outstanding service & quality products, all our staff members attend regular training seminars so that we are always up to date with new technological advances & sewing techniques. All products sold at our shop have been thoroughly tested by us to ensure quality & value for money ~ we don’t sell it unless we would buy it!
Most important of all we only employ the best staff available ~ happy, keen & eager sewers.

Shane has worked for several leading sewing machine companies & has successfully owned his own repair business for many years, through this he has amassed extensive knowledge & experience in the repair of sewing machines & overlockers. He now takes pride in helping customers chose the perfect machine for their needs & running the shop on a part-time basis. Jack and Christian now give Shane a helping hand repairing and servicing the machines from all over Sydney and beyond.

Aurora’s experience has been accumulated through TAFE studies, private workshops, working in two dealerships (manager of one), selected Freelancer for Husqvarna, & designer of bridal gowns (self employed). She now divides her time between enjoying motherhood, teaching the classes, running the shop & contributing articles for the leading Australian magazines.

Jo-anna, Ann, Pamela and sometimes helper Julie are our indispensable staff members without whom we would not be able to offer such great service. They are dedicated to customer service & self-confessed addicts to sewing!
Jo-anna is an avid sewer & sometimes knows more about the shop than us.
Ann comes to us from years of working for Janome and is very knowledgeable about our latest brand.
Pamela is a growing quilt artist with a passion for learning and exploring her creative side.
Julie is an award winning quilter and importer of Superior threads.
